Drs. Ben and Katherine Radcliffe
Since 2015, Drs. Ben and Katherine Radcliffe have served as missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene at Nazarene Hospital in Kudjip, Papua New Guinea. They have five children—Simeon, Matthias, Tabea and Naomi and Luka.
Ben grew up in Papua New Guinea where his parents, Dr. Jim and Kathy Radcliffe, served as medical missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene for more than 30 years before they retired in 2017. Katherine grew up in Mount Vernon, Ohio where her dad, Lincoln Stevens, taught philosophy for almost 40 years at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and her mom worked as a social worker.
Ben and Katherine both experienced an individual call to medical missions before they met at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. They married in 2004 and started medical school at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio the following year. They completed their specialty training in Columbus Ohio. Katherine trained in family medicine and Ben in general surgery.
Their current roles are varied, but primarily Ben is the Director of Medical Services at the hospital as well as the senior surgeon on staff. Along with her role as wife and mother, Katherine also serves as the Volunteer Coordinator, Mission Housing Coordinator and occasionally teaches in the MK elementary school.
