Slides/Lights

The Video Input contains the video from the video mixer. It must be enabled in order for the video content to go out on the livestream.
Video Input found at bottom left of screen in the Media Bin. To show/hide the Media Bin, click the Media button in the top center part of the ProPresenter window.
Note also that the Video Input will be disabled when CLEAR ALL is cued. In the event of a CLEAR ALL cue, re-enable the Video Input.

Just underneath the Video Display in ProPresenter you will find a drop down to choose between different displays or “Audiences.” SLIDES and STREAM OUTPUT are the most useful displays. SLIDES display is useful for editing during the week. However, during the pre-service rehearsal and Sunday morning service, STREAM OUTPUT is essential.
The STREAM OUTPUT display the video content and shows the lyrics appearing in lower third during music.
• lower third
• sermon
• full slides, etc.
MORE INFO +
Looks can be found in the top center part of the ProPresenter window. The icon is glasses-with-mustache. Looks customize how the slide content displays on the Stream Output.
Looks SHOULD be placed on every slide. However, manual changes are possible at any time by clicking on the Looks icon at the top center part of ProPresenter window and selecting one of the Looks.
To place Looks on a slide, right-click or control-click on a slide: Add Action>Audience Look>[CHOOSE LOOK].
Looks:
Lower Third – two lines of text show up in the lower third part of the screen, centered. (Also includes Video Input content.)
Sermon – Video Input from video mixer shows, but no text. Any displays of slides should be done by Video Mixer using either full screen or Picture-In-Picture. Also used for Announcements and for Scripture Readings during music or other times of worship.
Full Slides – overrides any Video Input content and only displays full screen slides. Used for Pre-service slides.
2. EDIT inaccurate slides carefully (without changing arrangements or adding extra slides and NOT WHILE PRAISE TEAM IS SINGING!)
*If this is not possible, talk with AV or Geoff
MORE INFO +
Slides are often automated and should, therefore, be accurate. However, issues arise with and without automation and should be noted during rehearsal.
Issues include:
(1) timing – slides move too early or too late;
(2) the wrong slide cues at a given time;
(3) lyrics not matching what is sung.Minor edits for slides SHOULD NOT be done during rehearsal WHILE the song is being run. Priority is an easy-flowing rehearsal with lyrics appearing without delay.
To EDIT slides, click on a song or song slide and then select the EDIT button in the top left portion of the Propresenter window. This opens up Editor mode. In Editor mode you can fix any lyrics (GO FOR IT!) and/or add slides (ASK FIRST!)
The exact flow of the song will depend on the Arrangement of the form modules (Verse 1, Chorus, Bridge 1, etc.). The Editor only edits the unique slides and not repetitions of any slides through an Arrangement.
2. Ensure that main service livestream begins and ends on time

Livestream can be cued two different ways:
(1) Scheduled by AV via Resi (https://studio.resi.io/schedule).
(This is typical. 9:15-10am test stream for rehearsal and 10:20-noon for service stream.)(2) Manually cued in ProPresenter.
(Not as common, but sometimes necessary for various reasons.)To manually schedule ProPresenter go to the top center part of ProPresenter window under “Live.”
REHEARSAL:
Live>Capture Settings…>Destination Group>Sunday Morning TEST. Then CLICK Start Streaming below.
(This Destination is our YouTube channel with an “Unlisted” video that is not publicly searchable, but allows us to evaluate that everything is working.)WORSHIP:
Live>Capture Settings…>Destination Group>Sunday Morning Worship. Then CLICK Start Streaming below.
(This Destination is a Public video that appears on our YouTube channel and can be searched.)To STOP either a test stream or Sunday Morning Worship stream, go to top center of ProPresenter window and then Live>Stop Streaming.
Scheduled livestreams start and stop on their own. With that said, if a service ends before noon go ahead and stop it manually.
Reasons to manually start or stop livestreams:
(1) some error in ProPresenter or audio/video malfunction requires to reboot ProPresenter. When reopening, manually start the stream. (Always go to Capture Settings to ensure that you don’t stream with the wrong settings!)
(2) stream not scheduled or failed to run.
1. Offertory
2. Closing song
3. Special announcement slides
*check with Pastor Scott and Pastor Jacob and AV

Typical service flow in ProPresenter:
Pre-Service Slides
Welcome (sometimes with video)
SONG 1

SONGS 2-4
Prayer
Announcements (sometimes with video)
Offertory (sometimes with light/livestream or video cues)
SONG 5 (not when instrumental or video)
Sermon
RESPONSE SONG
Closing
Post-service cueCertain aspects of Sunday morning service tend to be more fluid and changeable for better or worse. So we need to be able to call audibles and adjust as needed. Given this situation, here are relevant questions for Sunday:
(1) how many videos and where?
(2) CLOSING SONG? what is it? who leads it and who else is on stage? what livestream scene? what arrangement? what lights do we need?
(3) what songs need run manually?
(4) which in-person announcement slides need cued? (check with Pastor Scott or Pastor Jacob and then AV if needed)
2. Ensure Ableton and/or ProPresenter livestream cues are in place and accurate
3. Make sure clear-audio cues are entered for beginnings of all songs

LIGHT CUES:
(1) Geoff is the most knowledgable and first person to talk to regarding lights then AV
(2) light cues are almost always cued as Macros embedded into ProPresenter slides (yellow light icon). Hover over these icons on a slide and it will display the title so you can check.
(3) To ADD light cues always check with Geoff or AV. Then use one of two ways:
(a) control click (or right click) a slide. Add Action>Macro>Lights>LIGHT SETTING
(b) find Macro list on the mid-to-lower right side of the ProPresenter window [M]. Then choose the Macro collection from the drop down (just underneath but over to the left side of that section). Choose LIGHTS and then choose a LIGHT SETTING. Click-and-drag a light setting ONTO (not in between!) a slide so that the light icon appears.(4) Light cues can be cued manually as needed. Two options:
(a) Go to Macro list in ProPresenter window [M] and choose the Macro collection labeled LIGHTS. When you click on one of these settings it will change the lights. Boom. Simple. THIS IS THE SIMPLEST APPROACH for manual light cues.
(b) Go to Qlab on the laptop (often on the TV monitor and choose an appropriate light setting from the cue cart pulled up. THIS ALSO WORKS but may not be as simple depending on the setup.(5) To DELETE light cues check with Geoff or AV. Then control click (or right click) a slide. Remove Action>LIGHT SETTING.
LIVESTREAM CUES:
(1) Livestream audio scenes are typically set in Ableton when slides are automated and in ProPresenter when not.
(2) Check with AV, sound person, and/or Geoff to ensure we have audio scenes cued up for every moment of the service.
(3) To ADD livestream cues into Ableton ask Geoff or AV.
(4) To ADD livestream cues into ProPresenter, choose one of two ways:
(a) control click (or right click) a slide. Add Action>Macro>Liveestream>LIVESTREAM SETTING
(b) find Macro list on the mid-to-lower right side of the ProPresenter window [M]. Then choose the Macro collection from the drop down (just underneath but over to the left side of that section). Choose LIVESTREAM and then choose a LIVESTREAM SETTING. Click-and-drag a light setting ONTO (not in between!) a slide so that the blue S icon appears.(5) Manually cue livestream scenes when needed:
Go to Macro list in ProPresenter window [M] and choose the Macro collection labeled LIVESTREAM. When you click on one of these settings it will change the lights. Boom. Simple.
(6) To DELETE livestream cues check with Geoff or AV. Then control click (or right click) a slide. Remove Action>LIVESTREAM SETTING.
Keep in mind that some songs have multiple scenes. So check and make sure you know all scenes needed for every part of the service.
Problems tend to arise around offertory and closing songs. In real time, please note whether audio meters are showing audio on the left side of the Video Output monitor (top right of ProPresenter window). If no audio meter levels appear then cue a default audio scene corresponding to lead vocal.
Vox 1 lead – Scene 7
Vox 2 lead – Scene 2
Vox 3 lead – Scene 3
Vox 4 lead – Scene 4
Vox 5 lead – Scene 5
Vox 6 lead – Scene 6
Choir – Scene 10NOTE ALSO that Scene 1 = No Music Audio (used for sermon)
Always communicate with Producer (who should be monitoring live-stream audio intermittently) and determine that audio is always going out.
CLEAR AUDIO CUES:
(1) pre-service and greeting time music internal to ProPresenter needs to be stopped when the congregational music happens.
(2) Producer will NOT hear if pre-service music is playing overtop of congregational music because the audio is cued downstream of the video mixer.
(3) The audio meter on the RIGHT side of the video output screen in ProPresenter should NOT show any activity during congregational singing or prayer or sermon. Only videos and pre-service music audio should activate the audio meters on the RIGHT side of the video output screen.
(4) If the audio meter does continue to show activity on the RIGHT side of the video output screen, click the CLEAR AUDIO button (two musical notes top right, next to the video output screen). This clears the audio manually. (It will not affect the livestream audio, which is good.)
(5) To ADD a CLEAR AUDIO cue into ProPresenter:
control click (or right click) a slide (or multiple slides via shift click).
Add Action>(X)Clear>Audio
Add these to the first blank slide and first lyrics slide of each song. (Especially the first song after pre-service slides and the song after greeting.)
2. Coordinate with sound person DURING SERVICE in real time on all video/audio cues involving ProPresenter.

2. Make sure the audio is received from ProPresenter.
MORE INFO +
Music audio comes from Ableton and sends to the sound board on channels 31-32. These are routed to an Aux channel on the sound board (stereo aux 7-8 labeled Livestream) along with the Handheld mic and Sermon mic. From there they go to the audio inputs on the back of the video mixer. If you’re receiving audio from the sound board at all it will show up on your audio meters (top middle of video mixer).
All audio from video mixer sends to ProPresenter via USB-C connection. But the Video Input must be ON in ProPresenter for the video and audio to go through! Work with the Slides person to establish this. See details under VIDEO INPUT module.

We use Shure 215 and Shure 425 in-ear monitors. For the clear in-ear headphones there are BLUE and RED dots that map to LEFT (blue) and RIGHT (red).
Headphone extensions run from 3.5mm output on back right of the monitor hub (when facing the monitor straight on). The connection points to the headphones and to the monitor hub itself can easily be compromised, so note any issues with audio.
